Lads, being highly intelligent can make you brilliant at business and completely useless at choosing women. Sounds backwards — but your intelligence doesn't fail you here. It gets weaponized against you.
The Trap
You meet a woman and it's intense. Then she pulls close, then distant, with nothing obvious triggering it. Most guys would walk. You don't — you're a problem-solver, so you start investigating instead. Maybe it's her past. Maybe it's her childhood. You might even be right.
But an explanation is not an excuse. You can understand exactly why she behaves a certain way and still refuse to live inside it. Smart men trap themselves right here — the better you get at explaining the behavior, the easier it becomes to tolerate it. Six years pass. You're still there.
Why the Good Days Keep You Stuck
Logically, a bad relationship should be easy to leave. It isn't — because when it's good, it's incredible, and that contrast is what hooks you. You're not chasing today's version of her. You're chasing the version from two nights ago. If she were miserable every day, there'd be nothing to hold onto. The unpredictability itself is what keeps you locked in.
Her Emotions Aren't Your Job
This is where smart men lose themselves. It starts small — she's upset, you reassure her, normal enough. But if it becomes the pattern, you start softening everything before it leaves your mouth, avoiding certain people, staying home more. None of it feels like her rule. It feels like your own decision. That's how subtle it gets.
Eventually you're a different man walking through your front door than the one running your business. That's not peace. That's suppression — and it always collects its debt eventually.
One Question That Cuts Through It
Stop diagnosing her. Look at the reality in front of you.
If nothing changed for the next 5 to 10 years — not her potential, not the best weekend you ever had — would you still choose this, exactly as it is today?
Yes: build. Hold your frame. Stop molding yourself around her.
No: stop explaining why it isn't working, and start looking at why you're still choosing it. That part you control.
If You're in the Middle of This
I've lived versions of this myself. I didn't get out by reading more or diagnosing harder — I paid to sit with people who could see what I couldn't see about my own situation.
I only work with a small number of men directly, one-on-one. Not a course. A real rebuild.
Disclaimer: We don't work with guys who aren't willing to invest to actually fix this. The purpose of this call is to see if we are a good fit to work together — it isn't therapy. If you're serious about doing the work, click the link above to book a call. If you're not there yet, no hard feelings — keep reading, and we'll see you when you are.
All the best, lads.
